A serving police officer was among three Trinidadian men arrested during a joint exercise with officials from T&T and the United States on allegations of conspiracy to import cocaine into the US.
The US Embassy in Port of Spain confirmed in a release yesterday that the three men were held on December 30 last year during an operation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Vetted Unit, supported by the T&T Police Service (TTPS) Special Investigative Unit (SIU) and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU).
The three men — police officer Rafael Joseph, Michael McSween, and Clevon Persad — were held on provisional arrest warrants.
