The Ministry of Homeland Security has announced that a major human trafficking ring in Tunapuna has been dismantled by the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU).
"In a significant breakthrough against human trafficking in Trinidad and Tobago, the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) of the Ministry of Homeland Security executed Operation G-Ride in the early hours of Friday 6 June 2025," the Ministry announced in a release Friday.
The Ministry reported that following six months of intensive intelligence gathering and surveillance, CTU officers, supported by the Immigration Division and the TTPS, conducted a coordinated raid at a residence on St Vincent Street, Tunapuna. The operation involved the collaborative efforts of the TTPS Special Branch, Financial Investigations Branch, Criminal Investigations Department/Criminal Records Office, and Crime Scene Unit.
