A coordinated operation involving Interpol has resulted in the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) obtaining its first Preventive Detention Order (PDO) under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.
Dubbed “Operation Purple Ryain”, the exercise has resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old businessman and the rescue of four female victims of human trafficking.
Two of them are teenagers. They are all Venezuelan.
