“YOUR SAFETY and security is our number one priority,” acting Police Commissioner Junior Benjamin said yesterday as thousands of masqueraders get ready to take over the streets of the country today and tomorrow.
Speaking to the Express on the cusp of Jouvert leading into Carnival Monday, Benjamin assured that “all hands are on deck”.
He told the Express that officers from specialised units, who would not normally carry out patrols, will be on duty both today and on Carnival Tuesday on the streets and also quieter residential areas in Trinidad and Tobago.
