The Eu­ro­pean Union (EU) in T&T has con­grat­u­lat­ed Prime Min­is­ter-elect Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar, on her vic­to­ry in the gen­er­al elec­tions held on Mon­day.

In a state­ment post­ed to its so­cial me­dia plat­forms, the EU said, “The Eu­ro­pean Union and the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go share 50 years of part­ner­ship, ground­ed in shared val­ues, prin­ci­ples, and a com­mit­ment to con­struc­tive en­gage­ment across a broad range of bi­lat­er­al and mul­ti­lat­er­al is­sues.”

It went fur­ther in say­ing, “We look for­ward to deep­en­ing our col­lab­o­ra­tion on glob­al chal­lenges and the de­fence of the in­ter­na­tion­al rules-based or­der in the com­ing years.”
