A woman was arrested after police discovered more than $1.8 million in cash at a house in Maraval during an early-morning operation yesterday.
According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the exercise was conducted between 4 am and 8 am on Wednesday in the Maraval district. It involved officers from the West End and Maraval Criminal Investigations Department (CID), along with the West End Police Station, Western Division Task Force, Western Division Gang and Intelligence Unit, Inter-Agency Task Force, and the Canine Unit.
During the operation, officers searched the home of a male suspect and found a safe containing TT$1,853,600 and $837 in Barbadian currency. They also seized four police patches and a pair of black tactical pants.
