Man living in vehicle robbed of $15,000 saved to rebuild home

A 70-year-old man who has been living in his vehicle after his home was destroyed by fire was robbed of $15,000 he had saved to rebuild his house.

Andy Matthews was asleep in his vehicle, which was parked at Mt Sinai Baptist Church along Arena Road, Caparo, shortly before midnight on Thursday when he was startled by loud banging on the vehicle.

A man outside shouted, “Police, police.”
