WINAD congratulates Kamla

The Women’s In­sti­tute for Al­ter­na­tive De­vel­op­ment (WINAD) has con­grat­u­lat­ed Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar on as­sum­ing the of­fice of Prime Min­is­ter.

In a state­ment on Thurs­day morn­ing, WINAD said, "Per­sad-Bisses­sar’s lead­er­ship of the coun­try rep­re­sents a proud mo­ment for women and women’s or­ga­ni­za­tions that work tire­less­ly to ad­vance women’s rights to lead or­ga­ni­za­tions, and to lead the coun­try. Her suc­cess as a leader will con­tribute sig­nif­i­cant­ly to bol­ster­ing the con­fi­dence of women who are as­pir­ing to lead­er­ship po­si­tions in any and every sphere of pub­lic life."

It con­tin­ued to say, "Prime Min­is­ter con­tin­ues to be a trail­blaz­er in chal­leng­ing the many bar­ri­ers that women ex­pe­ri­ence, par­tic­u­lar­ly women in pub­lic life and WINAD com­mends the Ho­n­ourable Prime Min­is­ter and thanks her for her au­dac­i­ty."
