For the first time in T&Tâs hisÂtoÂry, the three highÂest ofÂfices in the land are held by women.
ChrisÂtine KanÂgaÂloo, KamÂla PerÂsad-BissesÂsar, and PenÂneÂlope BeckÂles-RobinÂson now hold the posts of PresÂiÂdent, Prime MinÂisÂter, and OpÂpoÂsiÂtion Leader, reÂspecÂtiveÂly. This is a powÂerÂful symÂbol of womenâs leadÂerÂshipâbut alÂso a moÂment callÂing for deep reÂflecÂtion, not just celÂeÂbraÂtion.
While that fact might be celÂeÂbratÂed, exÂperts warn that it is not a sign of true genÂder equalÂiÂty.
