From next Monday, consumers will pay more for a bag of cement after Trinidad Cement Ltd announced a 15% price increase, citing higher production costs after an increase in natural gas prices for manufacturers.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that TCL has raised its prices. The last increase took effect on February 17 last year.
“As the National Gas Company’s (NGC) previously announced increase in natural gas prices has now been confirmed retroactive to 1 January 2026, this is having a direct and significant impact on TCL’s production costs,” TCL noted in a statement to customers yesterday.
