On the run for almost a year after escaping custody while receiving medical treatment, a murder accused was finally recaptured on Saturday.
Police rearrested Hakeem Ishmael Mohammed on Saturday afternoon, after he was seen drinking at a bar in St Joseph.
Mohammed, of Wharf Trace, Maracas, St Joseph, fled from the Accident and Emergency Department of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex around 3 a.m. on August 4 last year, triggering a nationwide manhunt and a promise of a full investigation by the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.
