The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice says in­mate Ja­mal Joseph, who es­caped from the Car­rera Con­vict Prison on No­vem­ber 14, has been re­cap­tured af­ter a co­or­di­nat­ed re­sponse in­volv­ing po­lice of­fi­cers and the Trinidad and To­ba­go Prison Ser­vice.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers from the Care­nage Po­lice Sta­tion re­ceived in­for­ma­tion around 3 p.m. yes­ter­day from prison per­son­nel that the in­mate had been seen along the West­ern Main Road, near Tem­blado­ra Park. Of­fi­cers on mo­bile pa­trol re­spond­ed and met prison of­fi­cers al­ready on the scene.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, a prison of­fi­cer was dri­ving south along the West­ern Main Road around 2.30 p.m. when he no­ticed an un­usu­al ob­ject in the wa­ter. On check­ing, he re­alised it was the miss­ing in­mate, who ap­peared to have suf­fered mul­ti­ple in­juries dur­ing his es­cape.
