SOCIAL media commentator and “Straight to the Point” television host Dale Edwards has been ordered to pay $41,000 in legal costs after the High Court found that his failure to comply promptly with an order to remove publications concerning a director of veterinary clinic Total Pet Care had led to contempt proceedings.
However, Justice Frank Seepersad stopped short of finding Edwards in contempt after being told that the offending material had since been removed.
The judge yesterday ordered that he pay $20,500 in costs in relation to the contempt proceedings and a further $20,500 in costs for injunctive proceedings. A 28-day stay was granted on both orders.
