TV host could face jail in defamation case

SOCIAL media blogger and “Straight to the Point” television host Dale Edwards could face imprisonment if he fails to comply with a High Court order to remove publications concerning one of the directors of veterinary clinic Total Pet Care.

Justice Frank Seepersad gave the warning during a virtual hearing yesterday in a defamation matter involving Edwards, also known as Dale Bernard, and Pure Media Concepts.

The judge adjourned the matter to September 28 and made it clear that if Edwards continues to disregard the court’s directives, the court could entertain an application for contempt, with possible incarceration.
