A DOCTOR is currently in critical condition at hospital after being ambushed and shot early this morning but one of the bandits who carried out the attack was himself killed by an armed prison officer who had reportedly witnessed the shooting.

Police said that around 12 a.m. today, Dr Dorothy Williams-Chandler was returning to her Daniel Drive, Champs Fleurs home after leaving a charity event in a Toyota Rav 4.

At the time, an off-duty prison officer was driving behind her when he suddenly saw a Nissan AD Wagon block the path of the woman’s Rav 4. Two men came out and began firing at the SUV hitting the woman six times about her body.
