The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) has confirmed that a tree collapsed onto three vehicles in the visitors’ car park at the front of the Port of Spain General Hospital at approximately 1:40 p.m. today.
Two of the three affected vehicles sustained significant damage. At the time of the incident, two occupants an adult male and a young female were seated inside one of the cars. Both were safely removed by responding personnel and transported to the Accident and Emergency Department at the hospital for medical assessment as a precautionary measure. The NWRHA confirmed that both individuals are in stable condition with no reported major injuries.
The Authority also facilitated transportation for the owners of the affected vehicles to their respective destinations following the incident.
