Police are investigating a robbery with violence and false imprisonment in Gran Couva in which a 23-year-old man was locked in a house, beaten and robbed by three suspects.
The victim, of Main Road, Gran Couva, told police he went to the home of a man he knew at San Antonio Estate, Pepper Village, around 5 p.m. on Saturday to cook. Another man later joined them.
Around 10 p.m., after the second man left, the host reportedly locked the victim inside the house, armed himself with a cutlass, and accused him of owing $7,000. The suspect then took the man's wallet, which contained his ID cards, bank card and $11 in cash.
