North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) chairman Dr Tim Gopeesingh has criticised what he described as “mischievous” attempts to create discord and anxiety over the resignation of three nurses, saying they left for personal reasons.
Gopeesingh said there are approximately 1,200 nurses employed by the NCRHA, the majority of whom remain devoted to patient care.
The Express contacted Gopeesingh yesterday following two separate news releases issued on Friday and Saturday in which the Authority dismissed as “false,” “misleading” and “alarmist” claims circulating on social media regarding nurse resignations at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) and an oxygen system issue at the Mt Hope Women’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
