Australian firm sitting on 590km² mining lands, secures 29km² more

(Kaieteur News) – Australian-listed mining company, Altair Minerals Limited has announced that it has secured 29 square kilometres (km²) of critical adjoining permits to its South Oko (SOKO) project within the Greater Oko Gold Project, Region Seven.

The company in its announcement said the expansion increases its exposure to the Oko Shear Contact by 30% to approximately 18km of highly prospective strike.

In August, Kaieteur News reported that Altair and another Australian mining company – Liberty Metals have secured individual interests in gold-bearing lands covering about 770 square kilometres (km²) in Guyana’s Oko gold district, an area where nine million ounces of gold have already been established by other foreign players.
