The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert #1 at Yellow Level, warning of potentially disruptive weather conditions expected to impact Trinidad and, to a lesser extent, Tobago, beginning early Tuesday morning.
According to the alert, which is in effect from 2:00a.m. on Tuesday to 4p.m. on Wednesday, , there is a medium chance (60%) of isolated heavy showers and thunderstorm activity due to atmospheric instability. The TTMS has indicated that the most intense weather is likely to begin over southern and eastern offshore areas before spreading across both islands throughout the day.
The expected conditions include gusty winds near heavy downpours, which may lead to a range of hazards including street flooding, temporary traffic disruptions, localised ponding, and the displacement of loose objects. Marine users have also been cautioned about difficulties anchoring vessels, particularly in exposed waters.
