NATIONAL Centre for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) principal Kahaya Tuckerin has responded to Minister in the Housing Ministry Phillip Alexander parking in a disabled parking spot by stressing that these spaces are not for able-bodied people and should be respected.
On March 15, images of Alexander were shared on social media by former minister Randall Mitchell which captured him parking in a disabled parking spot in front of SuperPharm in Maraval. It led to criticism from people online.
The minister responded in his own post, blaming a new food court next to the Royal Palm Plaza for the lack of parking at SuperPharm and claiming a security guard told him to park in the disabled spot. He further claimed the guard directing traffic was cropped out of the image that was posted.
