MINISTER in the Office of the Prime Minister Phillip Alexander has apologised for parking in a disabled parking spot and presented a cheque to a disability organisation in the amount of the $2,000 fine he could have received.
On March 15, images of Alexander were shared on social media by former minister Randall Mitchell which captured him parking in a disabled parking spot in front of SuperPharm in Maraval. The minister responded in his own post claiming a security guard told him to park in the disabled spot.
In a video posted to his Facebook page yesterday with #ParkingSpotGate, he appeared with chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Chapter of Disabled Peoples International (TTCDPI) Andre Herbert and secretary Usha Rampersad at the SuperPharm parking spot.
