Three days after gunmen ambushed and shot a La Brea labourer during a beachfront lime in Point Fortin, he succumbed to his injuries.
Jamieel Pierre, 24, of Oilbelt Road, Vessigny Village, died from multiple gunshot wounds at the Point Fortin Hospital on Wednesday. With his death, detectives from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations: Region Three have classified the case as murder.
Police said Pierre was with his girlfriend at the Clifton Hill Resort beachfront around 3.30 am on June 1 when she left to use the washroom. Moments later, she heard a volley of gunshots. On returning, she found Pierre sprawled on the sand with gunshot wounds to his chest, back, and neck.
