In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the fa­tal shoot­ing of a 25-year-old labour­er in Pe­nal on Wednes­day.

Col­lis Meade, of Sun­rees Road, Pe­nal, died around 10.30 am while un­der­go­ing treat­ment at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Meade was walk­ing along SS Erin Road with his 35-year-old com­mon-law wife, her cousin, and her girl­friend when a white car ex­it­ed Batchyia Trace and stopped along­side them. The front-seat pas­sen­ger re­port­ed­ly got out and fired mul­ti­ple shots be­fore reen­ter­ing the ve­hi­cle, which then sped away.
