Three vil­lagers were shot, with one crit­i­cal­ly in­jured, while lim­ing in Chatham, Point Fortin, on Wednes­day night.

Ini­tial re­ports stat­ed that around 7.50 pm a 42-year-old labour­er, a 35-year-old driller and a 41-year-old labour­er were lim­ing in the con­crete foun­da­tion of a house near Chatham Junc­tion, Point Fortin, when they heard sev­er­al gun­shots. They ran but were all shot and sub­se­quent­ly tak­en to Point Fortin Hos­pi­tal.

The 42-year-old man was shot sev­en times in his ab­domen, low­er back and but­tocks. He un­der­went surgery and his con­di­tion is list­ed as crit­i­cal.
