Three villagers were shot, with one critically injured, while liming in Chatham, Point Fortin, on Wednesday night.
Initial reports stated that around 7.50 pm a 42-year-old labourer, a 35-year-old driller and a 41-year-old labourer were liming in the concrete foundation of a house near Chatham Junction, Point Fortin, when they heard several gunshots. They ran but were all shot and subsequently taken to Point Fortin Hospital.
The 42-year-old man was shot seven times in his abdomen, lower back and buttocks. He underwent surgery and his condition is listed as critical.
