A man is fighting for his life at the hospital after he sustained severe burns in a gas tank explosion at his home on Monday, the latest in a series of similar incidents involving home gas tanks.

Victim Devon Joseph, 28, a labourer, of Sunrees Road in Penal, suffered severe burns and is hospitalised in a critical condition.

Joseph’s uncle, who resides on the upper floor of the house , heard the explosion around 3.45 p.m.
