Businessman Sieunarine Coosal was among three regional leaders awarded honorary doctoral degrees by the University of the Southern Caribbean yesterday.

It is Coosal’s third honorary doctorate; the other two were awarded by The University of the West Indies and the University of Trinidad and Tobago.

At the university’s 93rd graduation ceremony at its St Joseph campus, honorary degrees were presented to Coosal (Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa); Fitzroy Harewood, president of Point Lisas Nitrogen Limited and a USC alumnus (Doctor of Business, Honoris Causa); and attorney Claire Chunlan Aleong-Hosten, a former USC valedictorian (Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa).
