Police have launched an investigation into the death of a four-year-old girl who may have choked after swallowing an object on Thursday evening.
According to police, around 9.20 p.m., an officer on duty at the Besson Street Police Station received a call from a doctor at the Mt Hope Hospital, who reported that Emergency Health Services personnel had earlier brought an unresponsive female child to the facility.
The child, identified as Jemima Bonaparte, of Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, was taken to the hospital by her stepfather after she became unresponsive.
