Police officers destroyed two cannabis fields in Couva on Wednesday during a Cannabis Eradication Exercise.
According to police, the exercise was conducted by officers attached to the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department, the Special Intelligence Unit, the Central Division Task Force (Area South), and the Air Support Unit. The team acted on intelligence and moved into a forested area off Carli Bay Road, where the fields were found.
Officers discovered a plot of land containing two cannabis fields with about 350 fully grown cannabis trees. The plants carried an estimated street value of TT$350,000. All the plants were destroyed at the site.
