Po­lice of­fi­cers de­stroyed two cannabis fields in Cou­va on Wednes­day dur­ing a Cannabis Erad­i­ca­tion Ex­er­cise.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers at­tached to the Freeport Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment, the Spe­cial In­tel­li­gence Unit, the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force (Area South), and the Air Sup­port Unit. The team act­ed on in­tel­li­gence and moved in­to a forest­ed area off Car­li Bay Road, where the fields were found.

Of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a plot of land con­tain­ing two cannabis fields with about 350 ful­ly grown cannabis trees. The plants car­ried an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of TT$350,000. All the plants were de­stroyed at the site.
