Man found dead in Charlestown canal

(Kaieteur News) – The body of an identified man was found on Monday floating face down in a canal located in the vicinity of a koker at Lombard and Sussex Streets, Georgetown.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that at about 07:00hrs, a machine operator attached to the Mayor and City Council observed the body floating in the canal and an alarm was raised”, police said.

Crime sleuths were sent to the location and they reported that the body was partially decomposed and clad in a blue checkered shirt, black pants and black boots.
