Police are investigating an incident where an 18-month-old baby girl sustained a fractured skull after she fell at a babysitter's house over the Carnival weekend.
The infant fell from the porch into a drain - a height of over three metres (11 feet) - outside the house in Friendship Village, Ste Madeleine, investigating officers were told.
A police report stated that a nurse of the Accident and Emergency Department of the San Fernando General Hospital contacted the police on Tuesday night when the child was brought to the hospital by her 20-year-old mother, a bar receptionist.
