The People’s National Movement (PNM) and the Tunapuna community are mourning the passing of party stalwart and former Member of Parliament Edward “Eddie” George Phillip Hart, who died at the age of 89.
Hart, a long-serving parliamentarian and community advocate, represented the Tunapuna constituency for approximately 16 years, first winning the seat in the 1991 general election. He contested the constituency on five occasions, securing victory four times, and was widely regarded as a dedicated grassroots politician with an unwavering commitment to national and community development.
In a tribute, Opposition MP Stuart Young saluted Hart as a patriot whose life was devoted to service.
