GEORGETOWN, Guyana, October 27, 2026 – Elliot Vieira, one of Guyana’s recognised motorcycle racing names, will return to local competition this weekend after a 10-year absence, adding further interest to the Caribbean Clash of Champions, the marquee circuit racing event hosted by the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC).
The son of Wayne Vieira and cousin of multiple-time champion Matthew Vieira, Elliot is preparing to renew his presence on the local circuit, where he will face a competitive field of riders.
Vieira said he was pleased with the progress made in Guyanese motorsport during his time away, particularly the improvements in racing standards and facilities. “It’s been 10 years since I raced in Guyana, and I’m glad to see that the level of racing and the venue have come so far from what they once were. Racing against such high-calibre riders is a great high for our sport because we can only improve from there,” he said.
