The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), in collaboration with Regional Health Services, Region 3, successfully conducted a one-day Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Training Workshop for health professionals in West Demerara, Region Three.
The training workshop, which was held today, July 15 at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Boardroom, saw the participation of 45 health professionals from the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, West Demerara Regional Hospital, and Leonora Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (Leonora Hospital).
The workshop brought together doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, administrative and human resources staff to enhance their knowledge and practical application of Root Cause Analysis as a quality improvement tool. The facilitator of the workshop, GNBS Technical Officer II, Breana Chase Wilson, introduced participants to effective approaches for identifying the underlying causes of challenges, managing risks and nonconformities, and developing corrective actions to improve healthcare processes and service delivery.
