$376M estimated to build eight apartments & gym for New Amsterdam Judicial Officers

(Kaieteur News) – The Supreme Court of Judicature is planning to spend approximately $376 million for the construction of eight new apartments and a gym for Judicial Officers at New Amsterdam, Region Six.
This was revealed at the recent opening of tenders at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) office. According to the tender minutes, a total of 20 contractors bid to execute the works. This publication reported that last year the Supreme Court of Judicature had issued invitation for bids for the construction of a new Magistrates’ Court in New Amsterdam. In this year’s budget approximately $6.7 billion was approved for the Supreme Court to execute to support works and programme for the year.
