Police are investigating a larceny and fraudulent use of a bank card after a 19-year-old cashier discovered her Republic Bank card missing and unauthorised withdrawals were made.
The victim reported that she had secured her bank card in her back pocket while at work on Tuesday. Around 5 p.m., she noticed the card was missing. Later, she received an email notification showing two ATM withdrawals at Port Mall: one for $1,000 and another for $300. She immediately deactivated the card using her online banking app.
The following day, she visited the Scarborough Republic Bank branch to replace the card and change her PIN. Upon reviewing ATM footage, the bank provided a still image of the person who made the withdrawals.
