For the past three years, the Stink + Dutty fete has been held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
The promoters had to host the event at the Chaguaramas heliport this year after Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar instructed that fetes be banned at national stadia in an effort to address noise pollution and the high cost to taxpayers to maintain these venues.
Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander said yesterday he stood by the Prime Minister’s decision, noting that when the fete was held at the stadium it was also plagued with issues.
