Revellers from Arima, Arouca and Valencia headed to Sangre Grande yesterday to kick off their Carnival Monday celebrations.
Thousands lined the pavements and streets of Sangre Grande from as early as 3.30 am, as they waited for the 4 am official start to J’Ouvert.
DJs on trucks provided the music as masqueraders and spectators danced away.
