FORMER medical intern Dr Dehlia Gabriel moved a step closer to resuming her medical career through an internship after proceedings at the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago signalled a breakthrough in her long-running dismissal matter.
Outside the court yesterday, supporters gathered in a restrained but visibly celebratory mood after a virtual ruling. Social activist Wendell Eversley described the moment as deeply emotional and joyful, but declined to disclose details of the decision.
Eversley said he was grateful for the outcome and thanked God, as well as those who had stood by Gabriel throughout what he described as an eight-year struggle.
