(Kaieteur News) – With an allocation of $134 billion approved in the national budget this year for the Ministry of Health, the government is preparing to spend a portion of that money to build a neurological centre in Region Four.
This is according to an invitation for bids issued by the ministry, seeking contractors for the project. The advertisement states that bids are expected to open on July 9, 2026 at NPTAB.
Earlier this year, during the presentation of the national budget, it was announced that plans were underway for the construction of the National Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, which will provide specialised clinical care and long-term management of brain injuries such as stroke, head and spinal cord and neuro-muscular disorders.
