Vicky Boodram freed on fraud charges

For­mer trav­el agent Vicky Boodram has been freed of over 100 fraud charges re­lat­ed to a cruise that did not ma­te­ri­alise.

Dur­ing a vir­tu­al hear­ing, a short while ago, High Court Mas­ter Lisa Singh-Phillip dis­charged Boodram af­ter State pros­e­cu­tor Elaine Green, SC, ad­mit­ted that the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) had missed three dead­lines for the fil­ing of ev­i­dence against Boodram.

Stat­ing that it would be un­fair to Boodram to have her be­fore the court in the cir­cum­stances, Green said: "I don't see the need to clog the list. We are not yet ready."
