The maÂjor fraud case against forÂmer travÂel agent Vicky Boodram, for alÂlegedÂly deÂfraudÂing clients in reÂlaÂtion to a cruise that did not maÂteÂriÂalise, has colÂlapsed due to prosÂeÂcuÂtion deÂlays.
Boodram was freed of over 100 fraud and monÂey launÂderÂing charges when her case came up for hearÂing beÂfore High Court MasÂter Lisa Singh-Phillip, yesÂterÂday afÂterÂnoon.
Boodram’s lawyer, Stephen WilÂson, of the PubÂlic DeÂfendÂers’ DeÂpartÂment (PDD), apÂplied to have her disÂcharged based on the failÂure of the OfÂfice of the DiÂrecÂtor of PubÂlic ProsÂeÂcuÂtions (DPP) to meet exÂtendÂed deadÂlines for filÂing evÂiÂdence needÂed for a sufÂfiÂcienÂcy hearÂing.
