OPPOSITION Leader Penelope Beckles says a People's National Movement (PNM) government will repair Trinidad and Tobago's standing within Caricom and reverse excessive tax measures, as she outlined plans to bring 'stability, competence and fairness' back to the country.
Speaking on Wednesday night during a political meeting on the 'State of the Republic', at City Hall, Port of Spain, Beckles outlined some of the party's vision for what she described as a safer country, a stronger economy, and a state that works efficiently and fairly for every citizen, not just a privileged few.
Beckles said, 'Wait until we get back in government. We know that this electorate has already written off this deceitful and destructive excuse for a Government and cannot wait for the next election.'
