Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs Sean Sobers has doubled down on his position that Trinidad and Tobago was not consulted on the reappointment of Caricom Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett.
Sobers rubbished reports circulating on social media which stated otherwise, disclosing that T&T was contacted only after Barnett’s reappointment took place. He added that some would view this as both disrespectful and insulting.
He further lambasted Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles, saying she should stop embarrassing herself by making inane comments that reflect her continued pattern of supporting wrongdoing.
