A regional political analyst has dismissed as misplaced the Government’s reasoning for opposing the reappointment of Caribbean Community (Caricom) Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett.
Analyst Peter Wickham argued the justification does not fall within the remit of Caricom.
In a statement on Tuesday, Caricom chairman and St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said the “required majority” of heads of government agreed to the reappointment of Barnett—a decision arrived at during last month’s Caricom Heads of Government Conference in St Kitts.
