Minister of Health, Dr. Lackram Bodoe, conducted an unannounced assessment of the Adult Accident and Emergency Department at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Tuesday.
Dr. Bodoe was accompanied by Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, Chairman of the North Central Regional Health Authority, and representatives of the multidisciplinary team working in the department.
The Minister evaluated operational systems and patient-centred services during the visit. He said the objective was to improve efficiency and patient outcomes. Dr. Bodoe stated that reducing wait times and strengthening customer service remain high-priority areas for reform in the health sector.
