Min­is­ter of Health, Dr. Lack­ram Bo­doe, con­duct­ed an unan­nounced as­sess­ment of the Adult Ac­ci­dent and Emer­gency De­part­ment at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex on Tues­day.

Dr. Bo­doe was ac­com­pa­nied by Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, Chair­man of the North Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty, and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team work­ing in the de­part­ment.

The Min­is­ter eval­u­at­ed op­er­a­tional sys­tems and pa­tient-cen­tred ser­vices dur­ing the vis­it. He said the ob­jec­tive was to im­prove ef­fi­cien­cy and pa­tient out­comes. Dr. Bo­doe stat­ed that re­duc­ing wait times and strength­en­ing cus­tomer ser­vice re­main high-pri­or­i­ty ar­eas for re­form in the health sec­tor.
