A WILLIAMSVILLE man who knifed his wife to death in 2012 because of her continued extra-marital affair with a man from the area, will have to serve just over three more years in prison before being released.
While he was initially charged with murder, Roger Sewlal, was allowed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter on the basis of provocation following discussions between his attorneys and those for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Sewlal was charged with the murder of Shanti Sewlal, 31, which took place on October 1, 2012, at her Esmeralda Branch Road home after breaching a protection order and stabbing her multiple times to the chest in full view of their two minor children.
