The Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government, in collaboration with key national agencies, has issued a River Level Advisory as of 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2025.
The advisory, which includes data provided by the Water Resources Agency, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM), and other partners, highlights varying river capacities across the country.
The report shows that several rivers are nearing or above 60% capacity, prompting increased monitoring. The Caroni River at Bamboo Settlement #3 is currently at 71% capacity, while Caroni Tumpuna and Cunupia River stand at 72% and 68% capacity respectively. El Carmen, also located along the Caroni River, is at 66%, and the Manuel Congo River is at 63%.
