Rambachan turns cancer battle into screening campaign

FORMER government minister Surujrattan Rambachan used the past nine days of Ganesh Utsav celebrations to address the issue of prostate cancer.

His advocacy has been rooted in his own diagnosis of the disease, which came in February 2026.

In an interview with the Express yesterday, 77-year-old Rambachan said his efforts would continue to intensify in the coming months, as he recognises the need to foster greater awareness of the disease.
