Today is a heartbreaking Mother’s Day for the mother of injured pilot Christon Battersby, nearly 14 months after a diving accident left the Caribbean Airlines (CAL) pilot fighting for his life.
The family of the 28-year-old first officer is now appealing for public assistance to raise more than US$400,000 ($2,720,000) for specialised medical treatment abroad, which they believe could improve his chances of recovery and eventual independence from life support.
